The Division of Science, National Astronomical Observatory of Japan (NAOJ) invites applications for one project research staff (postdoctoral fellow) position associated with characterization of exoplanets. A successful candidate is expected to work on modeling of evolution of rocky planets taking account of the diversity in the initial and boundary conditions of planetary systems, and/or to develop the strategies to characterize rocky exoplanets through multi-wavelength observations as a member of the group of Dr. Yuka Fujii. Expertise in planetary processes that affect surface environment, such as atmospheric escape and the interaction with the interior is welcomed. The responsibilities of this position include continuously demonstrating outstanding performance in innovative/international research activities, and developing collaborations among NAOJ scientists and students. It is also encouraged to utilize the NAOJ's large-scale astronomical facilities such as Subaru telescope, future TMT, and NAOJ’s computer resources such as ATERUI II.
