The Institute of Physics at the Eotvos Lorand University, Budapest, Hungary, invites applications for teure-track Assistant Professor positions in Astrophysics.
The Institute is expanding it's Astrophysics program during the next few years, hence more than one position is available now. Eotvos University participates in LIGO, LISA, LSST, and other significant national and international collaborations. We currently host more than 10 international postdocs, and we have several faculty members both at the Institue of Physics and the Department of Astronomy (currently a separate department). We invite applicants in any area related to extragalactic astrophysics, cosmology and gravitational-wave astronomy. The Institute’s research activities cover experimental and theoretical physics with applications to present and future-generation detectors; gravitational-wave observations and transient astronomy; theoretical astrophysics and cosmology.
Applications from top researchers in all areas related to the above, with a PhD and preferably 3-6 years of postdoctoral experience are encouraged. Applications from researchers with strong interdisciplinary connections (e.g., to computer science, theoretical physics) or those with backgrounds in adjoint fields are welcome. Applications should be submitted to Prof Zsolt Frei via email at ([email protected]). Applications should include a CV, a 2-5 page statement of research interests and plans, and a list of publications. Complete applications should be received by the 8th of February, 2021 for full consideration. Applicants should also arrange for 3 reference letters to be sent by the above date to Eszter Letrich at ([email protected]). For further information and informal enquiries please contact Prof. Zsolt Frei.
