Job Description

Center for Astrophysics in Wuhan University invites applications for all research areas of astronomy and astrophysics for a number of faculty positions to start in the 2019 spring or fall semester. The Center for Astrophysics in Wuhan University is held in 2017, now including 6 faculty members, several postdoctoral fellows, graduate students and undergraduate students. Our faculty members have actively involved different ground-based and space Chinese/international instruments, like LAMOST, FAST, KAGRA, the hard X-ray modulation telescope (HXMT), eXTP, the Einstein Probe (EP). The WHU-NAOC Joint Center for Astronomy established in 2018 provides the faculty members in Wuhan University to collaborate with the people in the National Astronomical Observatories of China in multi-wavelength astronomical studies using the large telescopes in China.

 

Faculty recruitment is open to qualified applicants in any area of astronomy and astrophysics, including cosmology, gravitational waves, high energy astrophysics, radio astronomy, optical and infrared astronomy, nuclear astrophysics. Applications will be considered until the positions are filled. The university will recommend the qualified applicants to apply for national awards program such as Young Qianren program (One thousand young talents national program). Position requirements:

The applicants should have Ph.D. in astronomy, physics or related fields, and a demonstrated record of research excellence.
