Job Description

The Department of Physics at Michigan Technological University (Michigan Tech) seeks a candidate to fill a faculty position at the tenure-track Assistant Professor or higher level starting Fall 2019. Preference will be given to astrophysics researchers with experience collaborating in multi-wavelength and/or multi-messenger research, gravitational wave research, astrophysical neutrino research, or extra-solar planet research. However, researchers displaying excellence in any area of astrophysics are encouraged to apply, in particular in areas that complement the activities of current astrophysics and physics faculty.

Required qualifications include a Ph D. in Physics, Astronomy, or a closely related field, postdoctoral experience, a record of substantive research, and good teaching skills. Historically, the department's teaching load has allowed significant time for research.
