The Melbourne node of the Australian Research Council (ARC) Centre of Excellence for All Sky Astrophysics in 3-Dimensions (ASTRO-3D) invites applications for a Research Fellow position on Formation and Evolution of the First Galaxies in the Universe.
The Research Fellow will work with Prof. Michele Trenti on problems associated with star formation, galaxy evolution and cosmic reoinization at high redshift. The position will be focused on analysis of data from James Webb Space Telescope to discover and characterize the first galaxies in the Universe. The position will involve independent research and collaborations with other national and international ASTRO-3D partner institutions.
The position is offered for three years, with anticipated starting date of September 2021, or earlier.
Funds will be available for travel and other research expenses. Assistance towards relocation expenses and visa sponsorship will be available for the successful appointee if required.
