Job Description

The Central European Institute of Cosmology and Fundamental Physics (CEICO; http://www.ceico.cz), at the Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences in Prague, welcomes applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position.

Applicants are expected to have, or be working towards, a doctoral degree in Physics, Engineering or a related field. Candidates are expected to become (if not already) active in the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST) project and/or Dark Energy Science Collaboration (DESC).

Successful candidates will work on any of the following areas of research:
• LSST science preparations; development and optimization of tools for processing scientific data and data managment
• DESC software development; running and developing of various simulations; study of dark energy probes and observables
• Characterization of CCD sensors and science rafts during production and commissioning; optimization of performance of the LSST camera and electronics; understanding of limitations for science observables coming from the instrument.

Fixed-term: The duration of this post is up to three years, starting in September 2017. Both earlier and later starting dates are negotiable.
