Job Description

The Institute for Advanced Study at Tsinghua University, Beijing (IASTU) invites applications for a postdoc fellow position in theoretical and computational astrophysics. IASTU is a research institute dedicated to theoretical studies of fundamental science, and also collaborates closely with Department of Astronomy (DoA) in the same campus. The successful candidate will work in collaboration with Prof. Xuening Bai on topics of mutual interest, including disks and planet formation and high-energy/plasma astrophysics, and are also encouraged to carry out independent research.

Applicants must have a PhD degree in physics, astronomy, planetary science or a related field by the time of appointment. The appointment is initially for two years, and is renewable for a third year contingent upon performance and funding. The successful candidate will be offered competitive salary and subsidized housing. Qualified applicants will also be considered for the “Shuimu Tsinghua Scholar Program” at University level. The starting date is negotiable but is expected to be no later than October 1st, 2022.
