The Astronomical High-resolution and High-contrast Imaging Group (AHHIG) at California State University Northridge (CSUN) has an immediately-open Postdoctoral Fellow position. This is a 2-year position supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF), with the possibility to extend to 5 years, depending on the availability of founding.
The Postdoctoral Fellow will work in the CSUN group under the supervision of Professor Deqing Ren, performing a wide range of research regarding cutting-edge astronomical optical and infrared instrumentation developments, including the development of a polarimeter for exoplanet imaging and solar magnetic measurements, a solar seeing profile measurement system, and a portable solar/stellar adaptive optics instrument. The Postdoctoral researcher will have the opportunity to use US 4-m class telescopes for instrument development & scientific observation.
A Ph.D. in Optics or Astronomical Optical-Infrared Instrumentation Development with CCD camera data reduction skills is highly desirable. Interested applicant should contact Professor Ren directly at [email protected].
