Job Description

Applications are invited for postdoctoral fellowships based in The Department of Astrophysics at Tel Aviv University Israel (physics.tau.ac.il/astrophysics) for theoretical studies in the areas of cosmic galaxy evolution, interstellar-medium, and star-formation. Candidates with experience in any of the areas of ISM theory, radiative transfer, dynamics, atomic and molecular processes, stars, hydrodynamics simulations, spectroscopy, galaxy evolution from low- to high-redshift, circumgalactic medium, AGN, black holes, and cosmology, are encouraged to apply.

Fellowships will be for up to three years, for independent research work, and for joint projects together with Prof. Amiel Sternberg and research team. These fellowships will also enable cooperation with the observational/instrumental Infrared Group at the Max Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics (MPE) in Garching Germany (mpe.mpg.de/ir/ir_personnel), and/or interaction with scientists at the Center for Computational Astrophysics (CCA) at the Flatiron Institute in New York City. Funds are available to support extended visits to MPE and/or CCA for cooperative research.

Please send a cover letter, a brief description of research interests, CV including bibliography, and three reference letters to be sent directly by the referees, to Prof. Amiel Sternberg, [email protected]
