The Department of Astronomy at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) is seeking to fill two faculty positions at the level of full and associate professorships on the hardware development related to cosmic microwave background (CMB) detectors. We seek individuals whose research will complement and expand the current research on Transition Edge Sensor (TES), Microwave Kinetic Inductance Detector (MKID), Superconducting Quantum Interference Device (SQUID), and the related astronomical instrumentation.

USTC is deeply involved in the Chinese CMB project: Ali CMB Polarization Telescope (AliCPT) in all aspects: hardware development, theoretical research and data analysis. The research group for hardware development is rapidly growing, and has access to the Microelectronic processing platform (USTC Center for Micro- and Nanoscale Research and Fabrication) and Extreme low temperature test system. The successful applicants will participate in the AliCPT project.
