Job Description

The Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Physics in the College of Natural and Health Sciences at The University of Tampa (UT) invites applications for a full-time, one-year term position as Visiting Assistant Professor of Physics starting in August 2020 to cover a sabbatical leave.

The University of Tampa is a medium-sized, comprehensive, residentially based private institution of 9,200 undergraduate and graduate students. The University is ideally situated on a beautiful 110-acre campus next to the Hillsborough River, adjacent to Tampa’s dynamic central business district, which is a growing, vibrant, diverse metropolitan area. We are seeking an energetic individual with an enthusiasm for teaching at the undergraduate level. The position entails teaching 27 contact hours (3-4 classes a semester) over the 2020/21 academic year. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate excellence in undergraduate education for both science and non-science majors and will be encouraged to engage in department and University activities.

A Ph.D. in physics, astronomy, or other closely related field is required. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
