<p>The NASA Ames Research Center is seeking an experienced scientist for the position of Astrophysics Branch Chief within its Space Science and Astrobiology Division. This is a re-posting of the Summer 2017 job ad, as no selection was made for this position. If you were a previous applicant and remain interested, we encourage you to reapply. We are looking for an active researcher who will provide scientific and managerial leadership to the branch and strengthen its alignment with NASA&rsquo;s strategic goals and missions. The candidate should have at least 10 years of experience in one or more of the following fields; stellar astrophysics, exoplanets, observational astronomy, laboratory astrophysics/astrochemistry, infrared astrophysics, or astronomical instrumentation. Mastery of these subjects should be demonstrated by a high level of scientific success in the community and/or with NASA related research, published papers, and community service. Additionally, experience in managing research teams and/or scientists is desired.
