Postdoctoral Researcher in Spectropolarimetry of Massive Stars

The Department of Physics and Astronomy is seeking applications for a postdoctoral researcher to be hired under the title of Research Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will assist Professor Richard Ignace with research functions related to the funding grant. Among other tasks, the research includes astrophysical investigation relating to massive stars (especially Wolf-Rayet stars) through theoretical modeling and interpretation observational data, attending scholarly meetings, and publishing scholarly articles.  Knowledge of stellar astrophysics, coding, theoretical modeling practices relevant to the subject area, experience with applying models to data, experience with publishing articles.  PhD (or ABD) in astronomy, astrophysics, or physics with an astronomy emphasis.

Position is not tenure-track nor subject to tenure. Position is for 1 year, renewable for a 2nd year upon review. Potential for additional years subject to both grant funding and satisfactory performance.  All positions at East Tennessee State University are contingent upon sufficient funding.  Please provide a cover letter, CV, and contact information for at least 2 references, but not more than 3.
