Job Description

The Astrophysics and Cosmology group at the University of California, Davis invites applications for a postdoctoral research position with Prof. Tucker Jones. The postdoctoral scholar will conduct research on galaxy formation based on JWST Cycle 1 observations (via program GO-2136), which will provide spatially and spectrally resolved maps of galactic structure at z~1. Candidates with expertise in galaxy kinematics and morphology, stellar and AGN feedback, integral field spectroscopy (IFS), or data reduction pipeline development are especially encouraged to apply.

The position is for two years, with a third year possible contingent upon performance and availability of funds. The expected start date is in summer or fall 2022. A Ph.D. in astronomy or physics, or a closely related field, is required by the start date. Any questions about the position may be directed to [email protected].
