Job Description

The Department of Astrophysics at Radboud University invites female researchers to apply for a tenured Mohrmann Professorship at associate or full professor level. Interests of applicants should be in line with the strategy of the Department (black holes, accretion, gravitational waves and compact binaries, transients, cosmic rays, magnetic fields, binary evolution and populations, star clusters, interstellar matter, star formation, planets and instrumentation). Applicants must hold a PhD in astronomy or physics and must have demonstrated the ability to define and develop independent research programs, as well as a proven track-record in teaching, student supervision and acquiring research funding. 


The Mohrmann program has been established by the Faculty of Science to attract talented women with outstanding potential. In the 2021 round up to three positions are available. The Faculty of Science is organised in seven interdisciplinary institutes. The Department of Astrophysics is part of the Institute for Mathematics, Astrophysics and Particle Physics. The department holds 17 permanent and adjunct research staff members, 14 postdocs and 25 PhD students.
