Postdoctoral Position in Exoplanet Science
Job Summary
Job Description
The Astrophysics Research Center of the Open university of Israel (ARCO) has an opening for a postdoctoral research position in exoplanet astrophysics.
The successful candidates will work with Dr. Allona Vazan on new models for exoplanet formation, evolution and interior structure, as well as develop their own projects. The field of interior structure modelling of extra-solar (and solar-system) planets is rapidly progressing, motivated by the new data from space missions and telescopes.
The initial term of the position is for two years, with renewal for the third year conditional on performance. The successful candidates could begin as soon as possible, not later than fall 2023. The postdoctoral researcher will have the flexibility to choose their working venue, and can split their time between the ARCO in Israel and working remotely from elsewhere.
Candidates should have a PhD in astronomy, physics, planetary science, or related field. Experience in numerical simulations and/or statistical and computational techniques is desirable. Applicants should send a CV, a list of publications, and a brief summary of research interests and experiences, as a single PDF. Applicants should also arrange for two letters of recommendation to be send directly to [email protected]
