The physical cosmology group at ICC (Institute of Sciences of the Cosmos) of the University of Barcelona is seeking committed postdoctoral candidates enthusiastic to work in cosmology with galaxy surveys. We are looking for researchers with a strong background in cosmology and the analysis of galaxy redshift surveys, but exceptional candidates in other areas will also be considered.
Applicants must have a PhD in Astronomy or Physics, or have fulfilled all the requirements for a PhD by the time the contract starts. The successful candidate will work with Prof. Licia Verde and Dr. Hector Gil-Marin. Experience with analysis of large datasets, high-order statistics, application of statistics within the cosmological context and familiarity with coding is highly desirable. Familiarity with high-performance computing is a welcome plus. Members of the group are involved in the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) collaboration and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to join the collaboration.
