Job Description

Applications are invited for a Astrophysicist (Post-doctoral Research Fellow in Astrostatistics) position in the International CHASC Astrostatistics Collaboration group at the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory (SAO), a partner in the Center for Astrophysics (CfA) with Harvard University. CHASC members form a collaboration between astrophysicists and statisticians with research focused on statistical methodology and algorithm development for the analysis of astronomical data. The purpose of this position is to train postdoctoral researchers to conceive, plan and conduct highly specialized research in the incumbent's area of expertise. The post-doc fellow will be a member of the interdisciplinary collaboration team and participate in presentations and publications of significant scientific results. The grant-funded position is for two years with the extension to the third year based on the performance.
