Job Description

The University of KwaZulu-Natal invites candidates from all areas of astrophysics and cosmology to apply for a 3 year research scientist position. The successful applicant will join the Astrophysics and Cosmology Research Unit and be based in the School of Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science. The School offers a vibrant research environment in astrophysics and cosmology, and has many well established national and international links. ACRU members have a wide variety of research interests, and are involved in projects that include ACT, C-BASS, HERA, HIRAX, MUSTANG2, Planck, SCI-HI, Spider, SPT, XMM Cluster Survey, and several of the MeerKAT key science projects. 

In order to further expand its profile in astronomy, the School wishes to appoint a candidate who will actively contribute to research and postgraduate supervision. The incumbent may also be required to teach, perform administration duties and participate in astronomy outreach activities.
