Postdoctoral position in gamma-ray burst astrophysics

Center for Theoretical Physics of PAS in Warsaw invites applications for a Postdoc to participate in the reserach project “Origin of Gamma Ray Bursts and their multi messenger appearance”. We are using both observational (archival) data and computational methods. The successful candidate will spend 100% of the time for this project in collaboration with PI, prof. Agnieszka Janiuk.
The successful candidate is required (1) to publish one first-author paper per year, and (2) to submit one HPC proposal per year. The postdoc should collaborate with other team members and supervise students for the purpose of carrying out this project.
We are looking for a candidate with a PhD and experience in high energy astrophysics. The topic of research involves physics of ultra relativistic jets in gamma ray bursts and their interaction with environment. Previous experience in code development and solid programming skills will be a plus.

Candidates might be asked to present a seminar. The prospective starting date is January 1st 2023, but it can be negotiated. The term of employment is for 2 years.
The salary is on current Polish maximum level for this kind of position, i.e. 120,000 polish PLN/year.
