The Waterloo Centre for Astrophysics (WCA) at the University of Waterloo invites applications for up to five 3-year postdoctoral positions. Two are WCA Postdoctoral Fellowships open to researchers in any area in astrophysics, one is to work specifically on the DESI survey, one to work on the Euclid project, and one to work on EHT projects, broadly defined.
The recently formed Centre consists of 14 research-active faculty members and when the world returns to normal post-Covid, will again have active visitor and meeting programs. Research is undertaken in several areas including cosmology, large-scale structure, CMB, gravitational lensing, black holes, galaxies, clusters, quasars and sub-mm astronomy, with interests in a number of future experiments including CCATp, CFIS, DESI, Euclid and LSST (https://uwaterloo.ca/astrophysics-centre/). The group has a close connection to the Perimeter Institute, which is located just a short walk away.
A competitive salary and research allowance will be provided, and researchers will be able to access additional funding for visitors and hosting meetings.
Candidates should apply by December 15, 2020 by accessing the following website: https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/17478. Only one application is required for all five positions.
The University of Waterloo respects, appreciates and encourages diversity. We welcome applications from all qualified individuals including women, members of visible minorities, Aboriginal peoples and persons with disabilities.
