Tenure Track Assistant Professor at Chalmers

Chalmers University of Technology invites applications for a Tenure Track Assistant Professor position. The position can be in all fields of basic science, including astronomy.

A successful application in astronomy would be held within the Astronomy & Plasma Physics division. Details about our research can be found at the division webpage. The division is mainly situated at Onsala Space Observatory (OSO), the Swedish National Facility for Radio Astronomy. The Observatory various telescopes, including a LOFAR station, two telescopes which form part of the EVN/VLBI array, and is a partner in in the APEX telescope in Chile. OSO hosts the Nordic ALMA Regional Centre and represents Sweden as a member of the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) Organisation. 

We are looking for candidates with an excellent scientific track record, interested in building a strong research environment. Candidates should have a doctoral degree not older than 7 years. Exceptions are made for periods resulting from parental leave. The appointment as assistant professor is a four year entry level faculty position with tenure-track. The aim is to achieve the level of associate professor within four years and if successful you will be offered a permanent faculty position at Chalmers. 

The position includes:

• Funding for one PhD student and operational costs.
• A leadership training programme and professional training in teaching and supervision.
