France is strongly investing in Computational Astrophysics, with the objective of developing simulations on novel hybrid CPU/GPU architectures ultimately up to the Exascale. Several applications are therefore invited for multiple 2+2-year Postdoctoral Research Fellows, to work on a synergetic implementation of physical modules in novel astrophysical codes such as
- IDEFIX - IPAG (G. Lesur, Grenoble)
- DYABLO - CEA Saclay (P. Hennebelle, D. Chapon), IAP (Y. Dubois, Paris)
- DYABLO/SHAMROCK - CRAL/ENS de Lyon (B. Commerçon, G. Laibe)
The project involves developing one of the following modules: radiative transfer, magneto-hydrodynamics, dust and anisotropic diffusion, in GPU-accelerated codes and its application to the dynamics of circumstellar envelopes, protoplanetary discs and planet formation.
The successful candidate should have a strong experience in developments for High-Performance Computing with a Ph.D. in Astrophysics, Physics, Applied mathematics or Computational Science in relation to the project.
By March 24th, enthusiastic candidates should send:
i) a CV including a publication list,
ii) a statement of research interests,
iii) arrange for three letters of reference to be provided separately (to be sent to [email protected]).
Later applications will be considered until the position has been filled. The project is funded by the national project PEPR Origins (Overall budget : 43 M€, PI : A. Morbidelli).
