Who are we looking for?
You are a team player who is self-motivated, and eager to learn, requiring only minimal supervision. You have a demonstrated record of individual accomplishments in astronomical data analysis. You are eager to support all phases of instrument calibration, and the collection, reduction, organization, analysis and interpretation of astronomical data to optimize their associated scientific return. You want to contribute to state of the art astronomy, including user community support, in a work environment that respects and relies upon the diversity of its staff. You demonstrate versatility, organization, and analytical problem-solving skills. You have an intermediate to high level of python programming experience in a scientific environment, including Jupyter notebooks, astropy, common visualization tools and Github. You are able to lead and supervise others in a team/project environment, and to establish connections between teams in the best interest of the project at hand. You are able to manage outcomes on multiple varied assignments simultaneously. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience with technical writing and documentation.
You have a degree in astronomy, physics, astrophysics, planetary science, mathematics, aerospace engineering, or a related field. These positions are open to individuals with varying levels of education but require 5+ years of experience. Degrees up to and including a PhD will be considered. Salary will be commensurate with your education and experience.

1. Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS) on Hubble
Experience is required in one or more of: precision astrometry and/or geometric distortion-fitting, imaging detector point-spread-function measurement and modeling, advanced data-science methods such as machine learning and/or cloud computing. Firsthand experience with ACS data and the ACS image reduction pipeline is desirable.
2. Wide Field Camera 3 (WFC3) on Hubble
Prior experience in carrying out astronomical data analyses, preferably imaging, direct involvement in calibrating CCD and/or IR data is required. Firsthand experience with machine learning and/or cloud computing and experience with WFC3 data is desirable.
3. Cosmic Origins Spectrograph (COS) on Hubble
Experience with spectroscopic data analysis is required. Firsthand experience with COS data, data reduction pipelines, or UV detectors is desirable.
4. Mid-Infrared Instrument (MIRI) on JWST
Experience/Background in transiting exoplanet science or time series data analysis, expertise in developing tools and methods to treat time series observations data, and experience working with unprocessed optical/IR astronomical data is required. Experience with Mid-IR data and spectroscopic data analysis is desired.
