Salary package: $101,805 - $115,428 (AUD) per annum plus 17% Superannuation
Term: Full-time, Continuing Contingent Funded, 5 years

The Position
The Research Fellow will undertake internationally competitive research in magnetic fields and/or atomic hydrogen in the Magellanic System or Milky Way using the Australian SKA Pathfinder (ASKAP). The Research Fellow will work with Professor Naomi McClure-Griffiths as a member of the ASKAP surveys GASKAP and/or POSSUM and will be part of Prof McClure-Griffiths’s ARC Laureate radio astronomy group at RSAA. This position will operate in partnership with other academic researchers within the School, CSIRO Space & Astronomy, and other Australian and international Universities.
The Person
To excel in this role you will have:
- A PhD (or awarding of a PhD within six months of appointment commencement) in astronomy and astrophysics.
- Ability to deliver high-quality research output
- Expertise in radio astronomy and/or large survey management
- Excellent oral and written English language skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate and interact effectively with a variety of staff and students in a cross-disciplinary academic environment
