Job Description

The selection functions will be applied during the project to the modelling of the binary population in the Gaia catalogue, with the freedom to work also on other astrophysical problems.

The successful candidate will work under supervision of Anthony Brown. The work will be carried out in collaboration with the partners in GaiaUnlimited, and will be embedded within the Gaia Data Processing and Analysis Consortium.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in astronomy, physics, computer science, or mathematics by the starting date. The candidate should have a strong background in data analysis. Experience with constructing or applying survey selection functions will be an advantage.

The appointment is for a period of three years and comes with full benefits and a competitive salary. The preferred start date of the appointment is end of June 2021, but can be shifted if needed.
