Job Description

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position at Leiden Observatory. The successful candidate will work with Prof. Laura Kreidberg on the topic of exoplanet atmosphere characterization.  Both observers and theorists are encouraged to apply.

The group's research centers broadly on atmosphere studies, ranging from detailed study of the composition and climate of individual exoplanet atmospheres to demographic study of the population.  Group members are strongly encouraged to develop their own research ideas within this general framework.

Leiden Observatory is a large department (25 faculty, 50 postdocs, 75 graduate students) with a thriving research focus on exoplanets, including ground- and space-based observing, theory, and lab experiment. The city of Leiden is a charming university town just thirty minutes from Amsterdam by train.

The postdoctoral appointment will be for 2+1 years (with the final year contingent on performance). The anticipated start date is June - August 2020.  The position comes with a competitive salary and full benefits. Successful candidates must have a PhD by the starting date. Further details may be obtained from Prof. Laura Kreidberg ([email protected]).

The application is available at https://jobs.strw.leidenuniv.nl/2019/KreidPD. Applicants should submit a CV, publication list, statement of research interests and plans (not to exceed five pages), and contact information for three references.
