Postdoctoral position in stellar analysis for 4MOST

We invite applications for a postdoctoral fellowship in Stellar Analysis with 4MOST, with reference number SU FV-1028-22.

The position involves full-time employment for a minimum of two years and a maximum of three years. Start date per agreement during 2022.

We seek to employ a postdoctoral researcher whose expertise focuses on high-resolution stellar spectroscopy to assist the 4MOST project with the preparation and operation of the instrument. The main task is to develop and test spectrum analysis software for the Galactic analysis pipeline. In addition, the candidate is expected to provide general support to the Galactic Project Scientist by active participation in various aspects of science planning, coordination, and operational infrastructure.

The positions include travel support and will afford the possibility to interact with the neighbouring institute for solar physics, the extensive theoretical and observational supernovae and galaxy groups, other computational astrophysics groups, and the larger astronomy and physics community at Stockholm University and the Oskar Klein Centre.Stockholm University is located in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden.
