Job Description

The University of Paris-Saclay, CEA Paris-Saclay and CRAL-Lyon are opening a post-doc position on numerical simulations of the circum-galactic medium, gas inflows and outflows, and associated galaxy formation physics. The position is expected to be based in Paris-Saclay with close collaboration with the Lyon team. The research project, funded by the French agency for research (ANR) focusses on gas flows around galaxies, interactions between inflows and outflows, feedback processes and galaxy formation physics. The team is strongly involved in major numerical simulation projects (F. Bournaud, J. Blaizot, J. Rosdahl, and collaborators) and outstanding observation programs on the VLT, ALMA, JWST, etc (N. Bouché, and collaborators). Ample support for research, travel, collaboration, us available for any project within these broad topics. The applicant is expected to demonstrate some experience with numerical simulations of galaxy formation/evolution and/or associated observations. The start date is expected to be in the fall of 2021 but an earlier start date could be arranged. Any application received by the 15th of March 2021 will be given full consideration but later applications will be fully considered until the position is filled. Potential applicants should feel free to make contact with F. Bournaud ([email protected]) and N. Bouché ([email protected]). Applicants are expected to send a CV, research statement/project (no longer than 4 pages) to the two e-mail addresses above, and to have 2 to 3 reference letters sent directly to the same addresses.

Applications received by March 15th, 2021, will be given full consideration. The position will be opened until filled.
