The Department of Astronomy is one of the biggest departments at the Faculty of Science with about 70 employees. The main research areas are solar physics, galaxy evolution, supernovas and numerical astrophysics.
The fellow will work at the Institute for Solar Physics, which is a semi-independent part of the department. It operates the Swedish 1-m Solar Telescope, and has around 20 employees, of which 5 are involved in operating and maintaining the telescope, and the rest are research scientists.
The Institute for Solar Physics of the Department of Astronomy announces three postdoc positions:
Postdoc 1: The position will be for the project Studying the cause of large fibrillar density variations in the solar chromosphere using tracer particles.
Postdoc 2: The position will be for the ERC project Understanding magnetic-field-regulated heating in heating and explosive events in the solar chromosphere.
Postdoc 3: The position will be for the project Fundamental magnetic processes in the solar chromosphere.
