Applications are invited for a post-doctoral research position at the University of California Los Angeles. The successful applicant will work with Prof. Tommaso Treu on the investigation of the cosmological model and the nature of dark matter, in the context of the approved HST program GO-15652, "H0, the stellar initial mass function, and other dark matters from a large sample of quadruply imaged quasars." Available resources include Hubble Space Telescope, Keck and VLT data, and access to the Hoffman2 shared cluster. Previous experience in analysis of HST data, ground based imaging and spectroscopy, code development, and gravitational lens modeling is considered a plus but it is not necessary. A fraction of the successful candidates' time is expected to be devoted to independent research. The appointment is for two years, pending availability of funds. Renewal for a third year is subject to performance and availability of funds.
The appointment is expected to start on or before Sep 1 2019, and requires the completion of a PhD. Applicants should submit: i) statement of research interests and/or research proposal; ii) publication list; iii) CV. They should arrange for three letters of reference to be sent. All application materials should be emailed to email@example.com. Full consideration will be given to applications received by January 1 2019. The University of California is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer committed to excellence through diversity.
