Applications are invited for a postdoctoral researcher in observational X-ray astronomy. The position is tenable at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, Canada. The successful applicant will work in collaboration with Professor Luigi Gallo on AGN research making use of the X-ray Imaging and Spectroscopy Mission (XRISM). XRISM will be launched is spring of 2023. The successful candidate will be invited to work with the Science Working Group on early PV data of an AGN. There will also be time to pursue an independent research program.

The successful applicant can apply for access to Canadian time on various ground and space-based facilities (e.g. Gemini, CFHT, ALMA, and JWST), in addition to the high performance computing resources within Canada.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in astronomy or related field. Funding is currently available for two years and the position is available immediately. Applications will be reviewed as they are received.
