Job Description

The newly established Texas Center for Cosmology and Astroparticle Physics (TCCAP) at The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for its first TCCAP Postdoctoral Fellowships, to start September 2023. Initial appointments are for two years, extendable to a third, contingent on funding and performance. We anticipate 3-4 Fellowships in the area of theoretical cosmology (including astrophysics and astroparticle physics). One Fellow will join Prof. Julian Muñoz's group, another will join Prof. Kimberly Boddy's group, and another will work on analysis of cosmological data (including Simons Observatory) with Profs. Katherine Freese and Nicholas Galitzki.

TCCAP Fellows will benefit from interaction with TCCAP faculty and join the excitement of a broad community of active researchers in cosmology and related physics and astrophysics through the Physics and Astronomy Departments, including the McDonald Observatory and the Weinberg Theory Group. Fellows will also have access to the world-class supercomputing facilities of the Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC).

Applications should be submitted to https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/UTAustin/TCCAP, and include a cover letter, CV, list of publications, a research statement (up to 3 pages), and 3 letters of recommendation. A PhD is required prior to the start of the appointment. Review of applications will begin on December 1, 2022. The University of Texas at Austin, as an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer, complies with all applicable federal and state laws regarding nondiscrimination and affirmative action.
