Job Description

The NASA Exoplanet Science Institute (NExScI) at Caltech has an immediate position for a Science Data Analyst on the NASA Exoplanet Archive.

Caltech is more than a world-renowned science and engineering research and education institution, it is a community—a community of curious and passionate individuals who collaborate to understand and solve complex scientific and societal challenges. Caltech is an award-winning workplace and one of the best places to work in the greater Los Angeles area. We offer an exciting and dynamic work environment, career development opportunities, competitive pay programs, great benefits, and the opportunity to participate in many campus programs and activities. The NASA Exoplanet Archive (exoplanetarchive.ipac.caltech.edu) is a key resource used by the astrophysical community to explore and study the bounty of exoplanets being discovered.

The NASA Exoplanet Archive is hiring a Scientific Data Analyst who will work with the engineering and scientific team members to make crucial contributions in maintaining an up-to-date database and archive content. The primary tasks will include collaboratively selecting, extracting, analyzing, and reformatting relevant data from the astrophysical literature and catalogs as well as from data contributed by NASA missions and exoplanet community members.
