We are looking for a researcher experienced in statistical analysis of 21cm intensity mapping and/or optical galaxy surveys. Areas of particular interest include developing simulations and data analysis methods for MeerKAT and the SKA, and cross-correlations with galaxy surveys like Euclid. The successful candidate will work with Dr Alkistis Pourtsidou at the Institute for Astronomy in the Royal Observatory Edinburgh. With over 100 researchers, the IfA is one of the world’s major centres of astronomy research, with an especially strong track record in cosmology. There will be opportunities for independent research and collaboration, including the option to supervise postgraduate students. The position is available from 01/05/2023 (with a possibility of delaying the start date up to October 2023) and the initial appointment will be for two years. Salary £35,333 - £42,155 per annum depending on experience.
