A 3 year postdoctoral fellowship is available to work with Prof. dr. E.F. van Dishoeck at the Max Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics (MPE) in Garching. The postdoc will be part of an international team studying the physical and chemical evolution from interstellar clouds to planet-forming disks and exoplanets centered around ALMA and JWST data.
The postdoc is expected to co-supervise PhD and MSc students and is encouraged to also pursue a personal research program. Candidates with an observational and/or modeling background in astrochemistry, star formation (from small to galactic scales), protoplanetary disks or planet formation are encouraged to apply.
Applicants should have a PhD in Astronomy or related field before starting. MPE provides a generous travel allowance. The salary and full social benefits are based on the German TVoeD scale for public employees and depends on experience. The MPE encourages applications from women, minorities, and disabled persons.
Applications should include a curriculum vitae, publication list, and a brief statement of research experience and interests, and arrange for at least three letters of reference to be sent to: email@example.com. Review of applications will start on January 19, 2018.
Full benefits are included.
