Job Announcement Text:

We are seeking applicants for a two-year postdoctoral position based at Universidad de Chile, to work with Prof. Laura Pérez and her research group. Applicants with expertise in simulations and/or observations of planet-forming disks, and more broadly, in the field of star and planet formation, are invited to apply. A PhD in a relevant discipline, as well as excellent communication skills are required. Expertise in hydrodynamic simulations, radiative transfer simulations, modeling of dust growth and evolution, and/or in the search of young planets/companions in disks would be a plus.

The new postdoc will join a vibrant team of researchers interested in planet-forming disks and star formation, including Prof. Laura Pérez, Dr. Myriam Benisty, and Dr. Gael Chauvin at Universidad de Chile, Dr. Charles Hull and Dr. John Carpenter based at ALMA/JAO in Santiago, together with graduate students and international collaborations. The position, funded by ALMA-CONICYT, has a start date on or around January 2020 and includes travel and computing expenses, as well as access to the 10% guaranteed time on telescopes installed in Chile for astronomers working at Chilean institutions.
