The Department of Physics (https://sciences.ucf.edu/physics/) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for a lecturer position, anticipated to start in August 2019. This is a 9-month, non-tenure track position, renewed annually, with the possibility of a summer teaching assignment.
We seek candidates to teach large-enrollment sections of introductory astronomy and physics courses for a variety of majors as well as upper-division undergraduate courses in physics and astronomy. The successful applicant is expected to demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching. Familiarity with online/blended instructional methods and/or digital teaching and learning tools is desirable. Lecturers typically teach 3 courses per semester in the Fall and Spring and have some service assignment.
The Department of Physics has 52 full-time faculty members and offers B.S., B.A., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Physics, Astronomy, or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution, and previous teaching experience at the university level.
