This 3 year vacancy, available from September 2017, is an opportunity to join the cosmology group at The Jodrell Bank Centre for Astrophysics (JBCA) in Manchester. The University of Manchester hosts one of the largest astrophysics groups in the UK, with major involvements in theoretical and experimental Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) studies.
We are looking for a Postdoctoral Research Associate who is an expert in theoretical cosmology and particle cascade calculations, possibly with additional experience in atomic physics and radiative transfer, to work with our team to study the formation of CMB spectral distortions and how CMB spectroscopy may be used to extract novel information about the early Universe.
You must also hold or be about to obtain a PhD or equivalent in a relevant field. Knowledge and experience in aspects of theoretical cosmology and CMB physics are essential. Further particulars including a full job description and person specification are available on our website, linked below.
