Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position at the Institut de Recherche sur les Lois Fondamentales de l'Univers (IRFU) at CEA-Saclay, to work in the field of Observational Cosmology. The cosmology group of IRFU, consisting of 9 researchers and about 5 students and post-docs, is deeply involved in SDSS-IV/eBOSS and DESI on topics related to cosmology, tests of general relativity, large scale structures, dark matter and cosmological neutrinos, as well as in CMB and galaxy clusters. The successful candidate will have privileged access to SDSS-IV data and is expected to work on Emission Line Galaxy and QSO clustering through Baryon Acoustic Oscillation and Redshift Space Distortions. Some expertise in modeling of the anisotropic clustering, in the realization of mock catalogs or in reconstruction will be highly valuable. The applicant will work 50% of his time on eBOSS and DESI and 50% on his own research.
The appointment is initially for two years with a possible extension for one additional year. The funding is provided through a grant from the French agency for research (ANR) awarded to the French Participation Group of eBOSS and collaborations within the member institutes are foreseen. Further questions and inquiries regarding this position can be asked to either Etienne Burtin (email@example.com) or Christophe Yèche (CYeche@lbl.gov).
Applications should consist of a CV, a list of publications and a brief statement of research interests to be submitted electronically to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please arrange for 3 letters of recommendation to be sent directly to the above email address. All application material should be received by Nov. 15, 2017. Start date is flexible and can be as early as March 2018.
The CEA-Saclay is conveniently located near Paris (30mns away, either by car or train). The position includes health coverage for employee and family. School in France is free for all children above 3 years old, and day care is available.
