Job Description

The Laboratoire d'Astrophysique de Bordeaux (LAB) invites applications for a post-doctoral researcher position to work in the project "C-ORIGINS" funded in the frame of the "IDeX Junior Research Chair" program of the Bordeaux University in the field of high-mass star formation, (sub)millimeter spectroscopy and the astrochemistry of high-mass protostars.

The successful candidate is expected to join two observing programs with ALMA: the SPARKS project and the ALMA-IMF Large program. Both projects target Galactic high-mass star forming regions to study their physical and chemical conditions. A strong expertise with (sub)millimeter observations, especially interferometric observations and data processing is a key asset. Experience in observational (and/or modelling) astrochemistry of young stellar objects is highly desirable.

The position is initially for a fixed term of 2 years with a possible extension up to 1 additional year. Applicants must hold a PhD at the starting date of their position, and are expected to start in the first half of 2019.

The successful candidate will carry out her/his research at the LAB with Dr. Timea Csengeri, and Dr. Sylvain Bontemps. The application should include a detailed curriculum vitae, a list of publications, a short motivation letter and two reference letters. For additional details and information, please contact Annick Caperan ([email protected]). All application material should be sent directly to: [email protected] and [email protected]

The monthly gross salary depends on the experience of the candidate ranging from 2596 to 2867 Euros. The monthly salary includes social benefits as social security, sick leave, and holidays. The University of Bordeaux offers a personalized Welcome Center for international researchers in order to facilitate the arrival and installation of the successful candidate.
