17 PhD fellowships for the Astronomy, Astrophysics and Space Science graduate program in Rome
The University of Rome "Tor Vergata", the University of Rome "Sapienza" and the National Institute for Astrophysics support a joint Phd program in Astronomy, Astrophysics and Space Science-AASS (http://dottorati.uniroma2.it/index.php/it/pages/scienze-matematiche-fisi...). The goal of the AASS program is the formation of early young researchers at a highly competitive international level. At the end of this program, PhD students will obtain a joint degree of the two universities. The PhD program covers, in both their theoretical and observational aspects, almost all the topics of modern Astrophysics and Space Science: Solar Physics, Solar and Exoplanetary Systems, Stellar and Interstellar Physics, Galaxy Formation and Evolution, Extragalactic Astrophysics, Gravitation and Astroparticle Physics, Cosmology, Space Sciences. PhD Students will have the opportunity to access all the facilities from 5 different research institutes in the Area. The successful candidates will have the opportunity to select one thesis topic among many available and work in the stimulating environment of the Rome area, where many astrophysics and physics research institutions are active. Standard Italian PhD fellowships (a net salary of 1.132,00 €/month) will be assigned. An additional contribution of 200,00 €/month will be awarded to foreigner students, according to their ranking at the end of the admission procedure.
