GMU Graduate Research Assistant - P&A
The Department of Physics and Astronomy of George Mason University invites applications for a Ph.D. position to work on accreting supermassive black holes with Prof. Claudio Ricci and Prof. Shobita Satyapal. The position will require to spend a significant fraction of time in Santiago, Chile, working at the Universidad Diego Portales. We are looking for highly motivated applicants who want to work in a multicultural and multi-institutional environment with opportunities to interact with a large team of scientists across the world. Applicants should have an undergraduate and/or master’s degree in Astronomy (or closely related fields), full-time commitment, and a good command of the English language.
Location: GMU Fairfax, VA and Santiago, Chile. Position anticipated to start in Fall 2020.

- Curriculum Vitae (3 pages maximum).
- Copy of undergraduate academic transcripts (graduate transcripts too, if available). Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Three letters of recommendation
- General GRE scores
