We are particularly interested in candidates who can teach courses in astronomy, primarily for a general (non-majors and majors) audience. The core responsibilities of this position include teaching six courses per year, three each during the spring and fall terms. Some service responsibilities are also likely.

This is a one-year, tenure-ineligible appointment with the possibility of renewal, contingent upon available funding, satisfactory performance, and need for the position.

A completed PhD (or equivalent) in Astronomy, Physics, or a related field at the time of the appointment is required. Experience teaching astronomy courses is preferred but not required.

Review of applications begins on June 7, 2021 and will continue until the position is filled.  This is a bona fide vacancy and has not been promised to anyone.
