Job Description

The Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research (MPS, www.mps.mpg.de), Germany, invites applications for Software Developers to work for the PLATO Data Center (platomission.com/plato-2-0-data-center). The positions are available for an initial period of 3 years, with the possibility of a long-term extension that is contingent upon performance and project funding. The start date is negotiable. The PDC is responsible for developing validation and calibration software modules that will be integrated into pipelines at the Science Operation Center.

Tasks: - Develop the PDC database system, - Contribute to the production of PDC technical documentation

Your Profile: - Master of Science degree or relevant experience, - Expertise with databases, Python, C, - Experience in Java, Eclipse, Swing/Abstract Window Toolkit, - Experience with Java Native Interface or similar, - Experience with dev tools (e.g. Jenkins, JIRA, Bitbucket), Linux, filing systems, - Experience with scientific projects, - Good command of the English Language
