Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Department of Physics and Astronomy in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Iowa State University is seeking applicants for a Postdoctoral Research Associate. The postdoctoral researcher will work closely with Prof. Jake Simon and join a dynamic group of researchers in planet formation theory. The researcher will work on numerical and/or theoretical studies in the general area of planet formation and will also have the opportunity to collaborate directly with observers to test specific aspects of planet formation theory. There may also be opportunities to co-advise graduate and/or undergraduate students.
Salary range: $49,440 up to $65,000
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Astronomy, Physics, or a related field obtained prior to appointment date.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience in computational astrophysics
2. Background in planet formation

September 1, 2023
Proposed End Date or Length of Term:
August 31, 2025 (with a third year possible with good progress on projects)
