The Department of Physics and Astronomy invites applications for a tenure-track appointment as Assistant Professor of Physics and Astronomy, to begin in August 2017. Requirements include a Ph.D. in Physics, Astrophysics, or a closely related field. The successful candidate will be dedicated to undergraduate teaching, co-develop and teach the upper-division lab sequence, and establish a strong undergraduate research program. Candidates in experimental, theoretical, observational, or computational research are encouraged to apply. The Department of Physics and Astronomy has six faculty and attracts outstanding students. Active research areas include experimental and computational biophysics, magnetospheric space physics, gravitational-wave interferometry, nanomaterials/plasmonics, high energy astrophysics, and quantum mechanics of few-body systems.
