Job Description

The Center for Cosmology and Particle Physics (CCPP) at New York University anticipates awarding a James Arthur Postdoctoral Fellowship to start in September 2022, in the areas of astrophysics, astroparticle physics, cosmology, and/or high energy theoretical physics, with an emphasis on individuals whose work connects to multiple of these fields. James Arthur Fellows pursue independent research projects and work with others in the group as their interests dictate. Submitted applications will also be considered for other postdoctoral openings within the CCPP.

The CCPP is designed to pursue astrophysics, cosmology, and high energy physics in a unified setting that encourages broad interaction between these disciplines. Within high energy physics, CCPP members pursue particle theory, gravity, cosmology, string theory, and experimental particle physics. Within astrophysics, CCCP members pursue observational and theoretical cosmology, large astronomical surveys, intensity mapping, astroparticle physics, exoplanets, high energy astrophysics, time domain astrophysics, supernovae, and numerical astrophysics. The activities in the center encourage the interchange of ideas and cross-disciplinary collaboration among these areas. Postdocs benefit from the lively atmosphere of the Center and a vigorous visitors program.
