Applications are invited for a two-year postdoctoral position in the topic of galaxy formation and evolution at the Department of Space, Earth and Environment, Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden.
The successful candidate will join the research group of Dr. Kirsten Kraiberg Knudsen. He/she will participate in projects of galaxy formation and evolution with focus on modelling the results obtained from radio, millimeter and/or submillimeter wavelengths observations of high-redshift starburst galaxies with instruments such as ALMA, JVLA, and APEX. The starting data is flexible, though preferably second half of 2020. The successful applicant will work mainly at Chalmers that hosts the Onsala Space Observatory, which is the Swedish National Facility for Radio Astronomy and also the location of the Nordic ALMA Regional Center Node.
Interested applicants should have a PhD in astronomy by the start of the appointment. Experience or expertise in modelling of gas dynamics and/or gas excitation properties of galaxies is an asset. Similarly experience with radio / mm observations as well as with galaxy evolution would be an asset.
The application deadline is February 9th, 2020, The application should be written in English, include CV, publication list, description of research interests as well as the addresses of two reference persons who can be contacted by Chalmers. Submission of the application should go via this link.
