At the Faculty of Earth Sciences, Geography and Astronomy and the Faculty of Mathematics of the University of Vienna the position of a University Professor of Data Science in Astrophysics (full time, permanent position) is to be filled.
We are looking for individuals who are outstanding scholars with cross-cutting research concepts between Astrophysics and Mathematics. Candidates for the professorship must be internationally recognized for data modeling and development of mathematical methods in Astrophysics, with a focus on current and future large observational missions or large-scale simulations. The professorship is expected to strengthen cooperation within and across Faculties. Candidates are expected to have excellent publication and external funding records. Teaching will be done in Astrophysics and Mathematics.
